Get Your Kid to Talk Quietly - Games

Games Parents Play

The Wordless Game

Tell your child, in a quiet voice, that you’re going to play “The Wordless Game,” and he’s going to have to ask his question without words. If, for example, he wants something to eat, tell your child to point to himself, then to mime eating something. If your child wants a book to read, tell your child to point to himself, then to mime reading, and so on. He gets one point for every wordless message he gets across to you—and a sticker (see the last pages of the book) for every ten points.
